There is a secret power behind the tools we use every day to get our jobs done in the technical realm. Throughout our lives and careers, we can apply these tools to a host of problems that need solving, not only in our work but in our every day lives. In this talk, Jaimee will share how the practice of being a tool builder by trade equipped her with the skills needed to build a ladder to climb out of a very dark place and into a completely new career working with people she loves working with, doing the most fulfilling work of her life.
Jaimee Newberry worked in the web interaction, design, and development industry from 1998 to 2013, with emphasis on empathetic and behavioral psychology-applied interface design for web, mobile web, and iOS applications. Currently, she is the cofounder and CEO of Picture This Clothing, which started as a passion project launched by a single tweet from her personal Twitter account. Jaimee has also served as a board of directors member, as an advisor, and as an executive coach for banking, tech, telecom, and application development and design firms. Across her career, she's worked with high-profile companies like Apple, Disney, Nintendo, Zappos, and many more.
