Testing Fundamentals for Adopting CI/CD

Add to calendar

Continuous Integration and deployment (CI/CD) empowers organizations to bring their solution in production fast and frequent. In this interactive session Derk-Jan de Grood will share the benefits of this concept and introduce eight conditions that from a tester’s perspective need to be met in order to make CI/CD a success. These are Collaboration between teams, Architecture, Automated tests, Hands-off deployment, Clear acceptance criteria, Frequent feature launch, Feedback and Teams with required skills and knowledge. After this brief introduction, we will make small groups deep dive these conditions, exchange experiences and gain an understanding what how your organisation could improve. Finally, we will look at the introduction of CI/CD in our organisation. Using a case situation participant will translate the presented theory into a test approach. How do we need to organise our testing to blend in with the CI/CD practises? Talk to your peers and learn where they stand. Go home with an understanding of how you can benefit from CI/CD and what needs to be done to make it work.
